Not in my name

Marlene Farrugia has the audacity to table a Notice of Motion proposing a vote of no confidence in Mr Keith Schembri in our name. She writes “‘Il-lejla , fil-Parlament taghna lkoll, u f’isem il-Maltin u l-Ghawdxin ta’ rieda tajba ser inressaq vot ta’ sfiducja fic-Chief of Staff tal-Prim Ministru, Keith Schembri”

Her assertions are ridiculous.

Firstly she is doing this not on her behalf but on behalf of us Citizens. She then qualifies this by “ta’ rieda tajba” implying that if you do not agree with her, then you apparently are not well intentioned or you lack any good will. How patronizing and how offensive can this Lady get?

Secondly, she asserts that she speaks for far more people than the number that elected her, and elected her to represent them within the bosom of a distinct Political Party. She has broken her ties with this Party and therefore with those who elected her. She is a so called ‘independent’.

Dr Farrugia had better learn that we are not as gullible as we once were. Whatever she does, she does in her name. Certainly not in mine
