The Times does not like Pluto, nor Kasco it seems
Updated: Sep 21
First of all let me say that I have nothing at all to do with either the Times of Malta or Kasco.
Having said that, I find it quite disturbing that unlike all the other news portals, the Times of Malta does not allow my short innocuous posts.
Today I tested them once more, and asked them what the news value was with respect to a story about Kasco being awarded a tender for the supply of paper by Enemalta.
This momentous event was given very good coverage by the ToM. They might be trying to pay off Kasco by free advertising, however this is unlikely. Therefore, I surmise that the only objective of their story is to keep up the feeble attempts at denigrating one of the best performers this island has ever had.
Denigration? Well if you just want to be biased and fail to take on board the facts, then that may work. If on the other hand you accept that a competitive call for tenders is usually won by the bidder with the cheapest proposal, that the bidder is a company, and that company is controlled by a private entity, and that nowadays contracts are awarded through the use of an ultra secure electronic public procurement system, then you will realize that the story in today’s ToM is nothing but a puerile attempt at insinuation, journalistic innuendo contrary to the mission statement of the same newspaper. A non-story in fact.
