The Times of Malta seem shocked that the current Minister for Finance is not privy to investigation details carried out by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit. The Prime Minister was also under fire by the PN media for not being aware of investigation details the FIAU conducts.

Are we to understand that it was normal practice for Tonio Fenech to be freely given or freely requested such information from the FIAU?

It’s well known that former Finance Minister Tonio Fenech is a good friend of Manfred Galdes and it was under his term that Galdes was appointed to this post.

Hearsay also has it that Tonio is still a frequent visitor to FIAU offices.
