Farsons is a group “which is fundamentally conscious of its corporate responsibilities and remains committed to all stakeholders and its deeply held values which demand a high degree of teamwork, transparency and integrity in all that we do”. This is fine. OK.

Their mission statement says it will “Champion customer relationships and build meaningful partnerships.” “Connect with the community and embrace our social and environmental responsibilities.” And here is the issue.

Connect with which community because by choosing Mario Vella and his band Brikkuni as one of there supporting acts at the Farsons Beer Festival they have alienated a large chunk of their own audience.

Whatever you feel about Joseph Muscat and his wife and his children, how on earth can you condone the language this man is using. Language he will be using in public. So much for embracing social responsibilities.

What the hell were they thinking? Is this some marketing ploy to build bridges with a certain type of persons? Who is responsible for this gaffe? Well, assuming it was a gaff.

Michael Farrugia, the Chairman’s son, was responsible for the Farsons Beer Festival in his role as head of Business support. Is he still responsible?

Today he is a director on the Farsons board of Directors. Quite a slip up Mr. Director. Companies of this size and reputation do not often make mistakes of this scale. Maybe it was not a mistake after all.
