Bedingfield is the devil threatening freedom of expression

After eight years targeting PN’s critics whether Labour Party politicians or private citizens, Daphne Caruana Galizia points her finger at this blog and states that I am a threat to freedom of expression. Beneath an article on the Times of Malta penned by columnist Mark Anthony Falzon, who is also a professor of anthropology at the University of Malta which focused on the President’s message on the use of social media, Simon’s blogger left a comment claiming that this website is a threat to freedom of expression.

More so, she also blogged “The President is in no position to speak, and Bedingfield is a threat to freedom of expression, not a manifestation of it”.

Slightly tweaked, Daphne Caruana Galizia’s comment applies more to her

I beg to differ on your fundamental premise. Daphne Caruana Galizia’s blog is not about freedom of expression but its polar opposite. It was set up, and exists, specifically to target, criticise, harass, intimidate and frighten critics of and perceived threats to the Nationalist Party for which she works, indirectly and in collusion with Richard Cachia Caruana.

That would be inexcusable even if he were only doing it to politicians of the opposite camp.

But used against journalists, entertainers and ordinary people whose only crime is to post comments on the internet criticising the PN, it moves into the realm of totalitarian tactics.

Her targeting of journalists, Opposition politicians and ordinary people who criticise the PN is therefore significant and represents a threat to freedom of expression, rather than being a manifestation of it.
