Tax investigation reports concluded that between 2008-2013 Caruana Galizia over deposited thousands of Euros

There are four main conclusions emanating from a review of the Tax Audit Report by the Inland Revenue which investigated Daphne Caruana Galizia for failing to declare her income for 10 whole years.

Mainly that;

(a) The taxpayer had undecalred employment income for years of assesment 2003 and 2004;

(b) She was registered with the VAT Department as being engaged in artistic and literary creation and interpretation;

(c) She is also involved in a partnership, Taste Cooking School, and various companies as a director, secretary and shareholder;

(d) Over deposits were found for years of assesment 2008 to 2013

The tax audit was initiated by the Tax Compliance Unit after the tax audit section of the Inland Revenue Department requested it to tackle the VAT aspect of Caruana Galizia.

The investigation was conducted for income tax purposes for years of assesment 2003 to 2013 after failing to submit returns for the mentioned period.
